The South Jersey Eye Center is a network of eye care centers and programs that reach out to the community with special programs for diverse populations. The Center offers specialized services as well as comprehensive eye care through its ongoing collaboration with area healthcare agencies and governmental, corporate, and charitable foundation partners. Delivering excellent eye care for all with distinctive programs for children, the elderly, and the homeless; The South Jersey Eye Center is playing a leading role in the Healthy People/Healthy Vision 2010 national health agenda.

Governed by a Board of Directors composed of eye care professionals and community leaders, the Center is addressing the community health needs of Camden City, Camden County, and surrounding areas of Southern New Jersey. With the facility's emphasis on community oriented primary care, the South Jersey Eye Center is bringing vital eye care services to its target population of disadvantaged, low income, and uninsured residents of the area.

In addition to quality comprehensive eye examinations, the Center gives eye and vision screenings, prescribes and dispenses ophthalmic materials (glasses), distributes eye health educational information, offers eye health counseling, provides vision therapy for binocular dysfunction and amblyopia treatment, gives low vision expertise to the visually impaired, and provides geriatric care and special pediatric services. We also offer continuing education programs for eye care professionals.

Our services are available and appropriate to all age levels.  Programs exist for children (Sight First for Kids, Amblyopia/Lazy Eye Screening and Remediation Program, Healthy Vision Summer Neighborhood Program and Special Needs Children) as well as adults and seniors (Adult and Senior Resident Program).  There are also programs for the homeless and non-English speaking populations.
