Chartered in 1961, the Camden Eye Center (CEC) a 501 (c)(3) facility is a very unique non-profit facility in that it is the only free-standing facility of its kind in the entire State of New Jersey.

The mission of the Camden Eye Center is to reduce visual impairment by providing high quality comprehensive eye health and vision care services and to raise the awareness of eye health and vision care services in all populations especially the poor, low income, uninsured and underinsured residents of Camden City, Camden County and the State of New Jersey without regard to age, race, sex, religious preference or ethnic origin.

Lakeland Complex

The services of the center are available to all families in the South Jersey area. Many patients are also received on a referral basis from social services, welfare, health care and government agencies, school nurses, service clubs and private practitioners.

In most cases, free eye care and low cost services to eligible patients are provided through grants from governmental, corporate and private foundation partners throughout the area.
